The girls were watching Ratatouille before bed and apparently Brianna decided she couldn't wait any longer.....

She just rolled over, grabbed her baby, and went to sleep! This never happens!

Life has been crazy and busy and so I haven't had time to post anything for a while. But I just have to tell this little story because it's too cute!

I had a cough for over a week and so I wouldn't let the girls kiss my mouth. Only on the cheek. So Brianna would point to my mouth and say "Not here. It has a cold on it." Today I let her kiss me and she said "It doesn't have a cold on it anymore". She's so sweet.

Meet Mackenzie and Ivan

As mentioned in a previous post, our little niece entered the world just about 3 weeks ago and we finally got to meet here while up in Nebraska. As promised, here is a pic...

New Niece

We have a new niece! Mackenzie Grace was born Monday (12/15) at 6:05 pm and weighs 8 lbs and is 20 inches long. Mom (Ryan's sister Jen) is doing great and we are super excited to meet the little one on the 26th. What a great Christmas present!!!

Toys for Tots

I was very proud of the girls yesterday. We went to Toys 'R Us last night to pick up our Toys for Tots donations. Elizabeth totally gets it. She understands that there are other children in the world that have mommies and daddies who can't afford gifts. But Brianna wasn't so sure. She couldn't understand why we weren't picking out toys for her!

So the girls were told they could pick out a toy between $10-15 and Elizabeth had decided she was going to pick for a girl (because she likes girls better) and Brianna picked for a boy. I had to set a limit, otherwise we would have walked out with the biggest toy in the place. :-) Elizabeth settled for a pink play phone and Brianna picked a Fisher Price medical kit (which we already happen to have). As we were walking towards the checkout, Elizabeth began to get frustrated because she was seeing other toys she wanted to pick instead, but we managed to make it to the front and make our purchase. Unfortunately the Toys for Tots people had already made their pickup so we were directed to QuikTrip down the street. The girls insisted on getting out of the car and coming with me to put the toys in. I think by the end, Brianna got it. At least she didn't put up a fight! I was very proud of them!

Skating Party

I first have to say that I am exhausted. So many concerts on top of an already busy schedule is just plain wearing me out. So when it was time to go to Elizabeth's skating party, I was not excited to say the least. But I have to say, I am glad we went. Elizabeth isn't the bravest little girl in the world and she usually spends the entire time skating on the carpet around the perimeter of the rink where it is "safer", but tonight, she headed straight for the beginner rink (a smaller version of the real thing - but much safer away from the big kids!). She wasn't so much skating, as shuffling her feet along, but she was doing it all by herself. And when she fell, she didn't cry or even reach for Mommy, but just picked herself up and tried again. By the end of the night, she had gone around the big rink! What a big girl!!!!!
